English Electric P1 research aircraft

It's first flight was in 1954, only 10 years after the RAF's first jet aircraft, the Meteor, entered service. The first prototypes exceeded the speed of sound achieving Mach 1.53. 

Martin & Paul

Bristol 188 high speed research aircraft.

This aircraft was built mainly of stainless steel and designed to investigate the effects of heat at very high speeds.

British Aircraft Corporation TSR 2

This aircraft was never developed beyond the prototype stage. However, it was one of the most controversial British aircraft designs of the 1960's.
